Spring 2018 Favorites: All Girly Stuff

Somehow its always the Spring season; bringing out the happy girl within me. The sight of lovely flowers blooming everywhere is nothing less than a treat for my soul. I have compiled some of my spring favorites specifically from the month of March. The list includes a lot of girly stuff so if any of you is allergic to pink and glitter, feel free to exit. Just kidding! do not exit and I Love you.

Spring 2018 Favorites: All Girly Stuff

1. Favorite Look

I am loving the head to toe lilac silver look for this season. The dress you see me wearing in the picture below is a revamped version. I “stole” it from my Mom’s wardrobe. It has beautiful Tila work done on the neckline. Even though I wore this dress on one of my friend’s Mehndi, the color silver is versatile enough to be worn at lunch or dinner dates as well.

2. Favorite Beauty Item

Its funny how I am claiming the only cosmetic item I have bought in months as my favorite. So, basically few years back one of my aunts gifted me liquid lipsticks from Nyx soft matte lip cream collection. One of my favorites was the shade ‘Abu Dhabi’, a perfect matte nude for my skin tone. I recently bought this lip cream from Daraz ; an online shopping website of Pakistan.

Note: A nude liquid lipstick is quite high maintenance. So make sure that your eyes are made up and face is contoured to get that sultry and seductive look!

3. Favorite Piece of Jewelry

I am a sucker for Pearls and Rhinestones. They are a must in an elegant girl’s jewelry collection. The particular arm candy that I am sporting in the picture below is from Sapphire. They have great collection of accessories in addition to their signature floral printed lawn dresses.

4. Favorite Book

Ask and It is Given By Esther and Jerry Hicks

Recently got my hands on an advanced level book on the Law of Attraction. It is “Ask and it is Given” by Esther and Jerry Hicks. I have always considered myself a spiritual rather religious person but halfway through this book I felt as if Esther was inspired by Quran. The word ‘Sabr’ meaning patience is mentioned 102 times in Quran which is the gist of the Law of Attraction; Letting go and expecting from a place of gratitude and appreciation. If you are girl, you should definitely read it as I believe women are far more better at understanding the universe and vortex stuff than men.

5. Favorite Movie

The Big Sick review

The Big Sick was one of the best movies of year 2017. It is based on true love(courtship)story of Kumail Nanjiani; A Pakistan-born aspiring comedian and his wife Emily V Gordon(Zoe Kazan). Kumail and Emily meet at one of Kumail’s stand up shows and they start a casual tryst(which I know is such a cliche’ in western rom coms). Kumail and Emily start falling for each other but Kumail’s Muslim parents want him to marry a traditional Pakistani woman. Ironically Kumail realizes that he can’t go against the wishes of his parents after 100 night stands LOL so they break up.

Anywho, So when Emily is beset with a mystery illness, it forces Kumail to navigate the medical crisis with her parents, Beth and Terry(Holly Hunter and Ray Romano) who he’s never met, while dealing with the emotional tug-of-war between his family and his heart. I liked the movie as it is based on true love story of our Pakistani boy 😉 and also it is co-written by Kumail and Emily themselves

6. Favorite TED Talk

One of my favorite TED Talks from the month of March was by Tanya Menon; an organizational psychologist. She talks about how intentionally diversifying our social circle can help us get more opportunities. This Talk has hit home with me because I rarely go out of my type and comfort level in connecting with people which has only impeded my process of learning and getting better opportunities.

7. Favorite Photograph

My Favorite Spring Photograph was of Fabiha(my younger Sister). She took this picture at a Basant Festival held in a town of Ghotki district,Sindh. I love how her look is complimenting with the beautiful scenery and the lovely peacock statue.
