it’s always the first Ashra of Ramadan which is a little bit difficult. I suffered from extreme dryness within the first week of fasting. But now that I have recovered, let me share 5 super ways that helped me get back my hydration.
5 Super Ways to Stay Hydrated When Fasting
Here is a list of 5 super ways to stay hydrated when fasting!
1. Have Water-Rich Veggies
These veggies retain water and help in suppressing your thirst.
2. Energy Boosting and Hydrating Fruits
These fruits can be incorporated either in a salad or diluted juice form.
Note: Always break the fast with dates as they are a natural source of glucose giving you a boost of energy.
3. Sodium Increases Thirst
Avoid foods high in sodium as they tend to trigger thirst throughout fasting hours.
4. Have Luke Warm Water
Having cold water basically shrinks your blood vessels and causes indigestion. I also noticed my dryness exacerbated when I drank extremely cold water.
Having large quantities of water all at once will only flush out toxins from your body. Drink a glass of water every 40 minutes from the time you break your fast till Suhoor. This way your body will stay hydrated as it is getting water in intervals.
Bonus Tip: Taking cold showers while fasting will help you stay cool
That’s all for today! See you in my next blog
