Hey my Foxies! So I have been wanting to do the review on Maybelline FitMe Matte and Poreless foundation for the longest time. The FitMe range comes in 6 different shades but I believe only four of these shades are available in Pakistan.
Maybelline FitMe! Matte+Poreless in shade Natural Buff 230
I ordered the Maybelline FitMe! Matte+Poreless Foundation from Just4Girls.pk in the shade Natural Buff 230. If you ask me how did I buy a foundation without matching the shade to my skin? The answer to this query is basically huge amount of money wasted on wrong shades. It is almost impossible to find your true shade in a Pakistani drugstore because firstly, there are no samples available and even if the samples are available, they are either too light or too dark for fair to medium skin toned girls. Seriously I need to write a dedicated rant on this issue.
Anywho! I have learnt to crack my shade just through reading reviews and eye guessing the swatches. The shade Natural Buff 230 matched perfectly with my fair medium skin tone.
Lets Get To The Review
The new plastic tube packaging as opposed to a glass bottle is really an improvement. It is travel friendly, convenient and easier to work with.
2. Consistency and Application
The consistency of the foundation is quite runny which makes it easier to apply with your fingers. Preparation is the key in achieving the velvety matte finish out of this foundation. I always wear a thick moisturizer underneath and then apply the foundation with a damp beauty sponge.
The foundation gives sheer to medium coverage. I had to apply two coats of this foundation to achieve a clean canvas and blur out the imperfections. It diminishes the appearance of pores and looks lightweight even in day light so it surely is an everyday foundation. It sets almost instantly without needing to use a compact powder on top of it.
The coverage part of the foundation disappointed me the most. As the foundation is sheer to medium coverage, it did not hide my blemishes and dark spots. I also felt that my under eye circles needed concealing as the foundation on its own is a complete failure in hiding those areas. It is definitely a good everyday wear foundation and it also does not break you out but it really does nothing if you want to wear it for an event.
The foundation stayed put without needing to touch up for 6 hours. It controls oil really well.
5. Flash Back Test
This foundation does not contain SPF and so no GhostFace Flashback.
